Land tax in Kyrgyzstan may increase 100 times

Due to changes in calculating land tax mechanism, its rate in Kyrgyzstan can grow 100 times. Chairperson of the Association of Suppliers and Distributors Gulnara Uskenbaeva told 24.kg news agency.++

In the new edition of the Tax Code, which is currently being discussed by the business community, the land tax rate, depending on the area and type of use, could increase 10-100 times.

"The same type of calculation of land tax is used as for ordinary citizens so for entrepreneurs," Gulnara Uskenbaeva told.

For example, a coefficient of land use and the inflation rate was introduced. The expert believes that small, medium sized businesses and the public do not need them. 

"They have created a field for maneuvers for themselves and constantly refer to the fact that it is difficult to understand. But it should not be. When you possess something, you must know exactly how to calculate the tax that you have to pay. There should be a complicated formula for large and complex business. Payment should be simple for small and medium-sized businesses and public. Officials should not shift their problems to others. We can say that they veiled increase in taxes by their amendments," Gulnara Uskenbaeva stressed.
