Film director Bolotbek Shamshiev awarded Gold Medal of TURKSOY

Domestic film director Bolotbek Shamshiev, Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Soviet Union, was awarded the gold medal of TURKSOY, a representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in the organization Kozhogeldi Kuluev reported.

According to him, the medal  was awarded for fruitful work in the cinema of the Turkic world. The award is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the master and to the anniversary of Kyrgyz cinema. The official presentation will take place on November 17 at an evening dedicated to the anniversary with the participation of the Secretary General of TURKSOY Duysen Kaseinov.

Note of 24.kg news agency. Bolot Shamshiev was born January 12, 1941 in Frunze, in the family of patriarch of the Kyrgyz literature, the famous poet and journalist Tolen Shamshiev. He began his creative activity in 1961 as an actor, starring in the film "Heat." From 1963 to 1991 he worked at the studio "Kyrgyzfilm" as director-producer of documentaries and feature films, the most famous are "Shepherd", "Shot on Karash pass", "Red poppies of Issyk-Kul", "The White Ship", "Early Cranes," "Trap hole," "Ascent of Fuji Mount."
