Ministry of Culture: The entire area surrounding historical museum will be fenced

The entire area surrounding the State Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan will be fenced. The Ministry of Culture reported.

According to the ministry, now the capital's Ala-Too square is prepared for the reconstruction of the cultural object in accordance with the agreement between the government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Turkish International Cooperation Agency under the Office of the Prime Minister of Turkey (TICA). In this regard, the perimeter is fenced to avoid hindrances to work.

 The reconstruction will take place in two stages. The first will last until August 31, 2016 within which it is planned to change the lighting of the building facade and the adjoining frontal area up to the square. Reconstruction of the museum will be completed at the second stage.

The State Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan was founded in 1925. The existing building was built in 1984 and is one of the largest in Central Asia. The historical museum houses 135,000 rare artifacts, unique monuments of culture and history.
