Kadyr Malikov: Society’s tiredness of authorities observed in Kyrgyzstan

"Today, there is some tiredness of society of authorities in Kyrgyzstan, as evidenced by the low voter turnout. In such a situation, there is a risk that people can be lured by supporters of radical religious views," the director of the analytical center Religion, Law and Politics Kadyr Malikov said at the round table "Role of Islam in secular Kyrgyzstan."

According to him, the countries which formally adhere to democratic norms, but actually have established authoritarian regime, have a conflict in the making because of social injustice.

"These states are gradually turning into a corruption scheme, while in Kyrgyzstan we are openly talking about it and publicly counter this, that is are able to talk about problems. Another question - how they are solved," Kadyr Malikov said.

The expert pointed out that we live in a secular state and therefore it is necessary to find the point of bringing people of different faiths and nationalities together. All the countries with a secular government, where the majority of the populations are Muslims, carry out discussions on this subject.
