Kyrgyzstan prepares draft concept of its chairmanship in CIS
Kyrgyzstan has prepared a draft concept of its chairmanship in the CIS. The President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev said at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State in a narrow format.
Speech of the Head of State was presented by his press service. Almazbek Atambayev said the Kyrgyz Republic considered integration as an important factor of development and suggested the countries of the Commonwealth to adapt the agenda and priorities to the new realities. In this regard, Kyrgyzstan considers adoption of the declaration on fight against international terrorism at the meeting of CIS Heads of States appropriate and essential.
"Kyrgyzstan as the chairman of CIS in 2016 intends to strictly adhere and abide the principles of continuity and successive strengthening, development of mutually beneficial cooperation, meeting the interests of the CIS countries. We have prepared a draft concept. It will be formally approved in December of this year," Almazbek Atambayev concluded.
"We have an honorable mission - to carry out CIS anniversary summit in 2016 in Bishkek, the main issue of which will be the statement on the 25th anniversary of the Commonwealth. I want to assure you that Kyrgyzstan will make all efforts for productive chairmanship in CIS in 2016 together with the co-chairs - Russia and Kazakhstan," he added.
