President of Kazakhstan: CIS should evolve and adapt to new realities

"CIS should evolve and adapt to new realities," the President of Kazakstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State.

According to him, in recent years the world is exposed to global changes in many areas. First of all, it concerns the economy and safety issues. What is happening in the world requires of CIS a corresponding development and adaptation to new conditions.

"CIS should also evolve, adapt to new realities and more effectively respond to global challenges. One of the topics of our meeting is the international security environment. Unfortunately, we must note intensification of terrorist groups whose activities undermine the existing foundations of the international community. International terrorism has an impact on the situation at the state level, a significant intensification of forces leads to an increase in the number of civilian casualties. As a result, we observe the largest since the Second World War migration of population," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
