 Meeting of Council of CIS Heads of State in narrow format begins in Kazakhstan

The meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in a narrow format began in Kazakhstan. The President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev also takes part in the meeting.

 The Heads of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan arrived in the village of Borovoe (Burabay) the day before. The meeting is also attended by the Chairman of CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev.

The participants will expectedly discuss the main aspects of joint countering terrorist threat, security and the rule of law, cooperation of law enforcement agencies of the CIS countries and other issues.

In particular, it is planned to adopt a statement on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations and on the fight against international terrorism, an address on the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident. The agenda also includes organizational issues, including the CIS chairmanship in 2016.
