MPs don’t come to first session in time

Today, the newly elected members of the Bishkek City Council couldn't gather for their first session in time.

The meeting was scheduled for 10.00 am. But after 45 minutes, the hall was empty.


According to the current legislation, the right to conduct the first session is given to the oldest deputy. This is a well-known environmentalist Emil Shukurov (SDPK), born in 1938. The youngest deputy - 22-year-old student of the Diplomatic Academy Temirlan Tokobekov (Respublika- Ata Jurt).

City council consists of 45 deputies.

Recall, after the elections SDPK received 13 mandates, Respublika Ata-Jurt - 12, Onuguu-Progress - 8, Mekenim Kyrgyzstan - 7, Kyrgyzstan - 5.

The session is to consider organizational matters, including the election of a chairman.
