There is school construction program in Bishkek, but no money, the mayor of Albek Ibraimov said today at a press conference.
According to him, in 2016 the municipality planed to build five schools. "Funds have been allocated from the republican budget. The city budget laid the money for only school, which is in Ak-Ordo residential area. The work on laying the foundation started there. For other schools the state budget didn't allocate money," Albek Ibraimov said.
He noted that the designed capacity of schools in the capital - 75,000 students, but study 137,000. "Compared with the last year, the number has increased by approximately 10,000. And the number of students in Bishkek schools continues to grow each year. Therefore, we would like the national budget to pay its attention to this problem," Albek Ibraimov said.
